I had the privilege of working under Nick while stationed in Italy. I think about him often when I find myself in a leadership position. He was amiable, confident, and hilarious. I learned so much from him regarding how to connect with people, get people to commit to the mission, and how to support people when they needed it. His obituary is an incredibly accurate representation of what I knew of him, and I'm shocked and remorseful that the world has to move forward without him in it to lead and mentor.
