Nicholas Charles Oftelie

Nico was a unique, creative, kind, and caring person. I found him optimistic and open-minded and also sensitive about injustices. He was principled and pure in subtle ways and would stand behind an underdog, without self-serving motives. Although he was significantly more skilled at the guitar, he was supportive and encouraging of my playing. He was a person who built others up and did so in a genuine way, without hidden agendas. Nico's authenticity, compassion, and creative spirit leaves a lasting impression.

Gone too soon, I was just thinking about you, been listening to Dylan lately. We grew apart, but I always get nostalgic when you come to mind. Rest well.

Rest in peace, Nico. I´ve been mainlining Modest Mouse and Bob Dylan since I heard. I miss you, my brother. `Til we meet again.
