Nicholas J. Perrone, 86, of Worcester, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
Nicholas was born in Worcester on March 12, 1938, to Joseph and Marion (Anthony) Perrone. He attended Commerce High School in Worcester. After graduating high school, Nicholas then went on to attend Massachusetts School of Barbering in Boston where with his education and experience he worked his whole life as a Master Barber. In 1986 he took over the family business at Perrone’s Barber Shop, a business that his father had started in 1946 and is still located in Shrewsbury. Along with being a Master Barber for sixty-seven years, Nicholas was also an enthusiastic member of the Ken Jordan Trio where his love of music inspired many in attendance.
Renowned for his kind heart, empathy, and humor, Nicholas was a true gentleman and cherished his family and friends. He was especially fond of his caretaker Sobeida Gaspar who took loving care of him in his home. He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows. Nicholas was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt, spending a lot of time in Maine, New York and in the Narraganset Bay area. Mondays were meant for fishing. He had a love for antiques and attended The Brimfield Flea Market on regular family outings.
Sadly, in addition to his parents Nicholas was predeceased by his siblings, Albert Perrone and Joanne (Olaveson)Emmons; his grandson, Nicholas Perrone, and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Krause.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Frances (Castagna) Perrone of Worcester; his loving daughters, Deborah Perrone, Sandra Krause, and Nicole (Perrone)Malinowski all of Worcester; and his sister Katherine Houle of New York. He revered his six grandchildren; as well as his three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
