Nicholas Grant Ponzo

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nicholas Grant Ponzo, who died on September 22, 2025, at the age of 46 after a 2 year battle with a brain tumor (glioblastoma).
Nick was raised in Healdsburg, California. He had a career as an operating engineer for Engelke Construction. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasure of life, bowling, golfing, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Nick was a devoted father to his beloved son, Weston, who was the light of his life. He is survived by his son Weston, his loving parents, Melissa Cox (Tom) and Phillip Ponzo (Barbara); his cherished siblings, Samantha Gillooly (Austin), Lindsay Schlesinger (Jeremy), and Brian Cox (Jen); and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his ex-wife Amanda Gutierrez, who supported the relationship of Weston and Nick before and during his illness.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Anita Ponzo and Wes and Iris Rued, whose memories he held close to his heart.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00 to 3:00 at St. John the Baptist Hall, 217 Fitch Street, Healdsburg, CA. Nicholas will be remembered for his kind heart and the love he shared with everyone around him.
