Nicholas Owen Sebastian

Nicholas Owen Sebastian, age 48, of Dunedin, Florida, passed away on July 27, 2025 following an illness that he fought for years. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Gavin, Sydney and Landon, who were the light of his life, and his puppers, Sebastian. He also leaves behind his father Gerald Sebastian and his fiancée Belinda Gilbert; his sister Tara Thomas and her husband Rob and their boys, Mason and Maddox; his sister Joelle Sebastian-Dean and her wife Windy; and his brother, Scott Sebastian.

For over 20 years, Nick devoted himself to his work at Ocean Optics, where he began in construction and steadily advanced-first to shipping, then trade show management, and eventually serving as Sales Director. His diligence, leadership, and care for others left a lasting impression on his colleagues and clients alike, making life-long friends along the way, many from other countries.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Nick lived out a deep and enduring calling as a worship leader. For two decades, he faithfully led worship at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Seminole, Florida, helping others experience the presence and peace of God through music. His voice, his heart for ministry, and his unwavering faith helped shape the spiritual lives of so many.

His true heart was his family-both immediate and extended. While his illness robbed him of many special moments, when he was healthy, there was nothing he loved more than spending time with those he cherished. One of his greatest joys was watching his kids do their thing-whether it was soccer or running a soundboard, he was there for it. His love for his family ran deep, and it was evident in the way he showed up for them when he could.

Nick will be remembered for his compassion, his humor, his love for worship, and his generosity of spirit. His journey included real struggles, but those challenges never fully dimmed the light he brought to others through his kindness, his faith, and the way he poured himself into his work, his worship, and his family when he was able.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 1pm at First United Methodist Church in Dunedin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army ARC at 5885 66th St. N., St Petersburg, FL 33709.
