Nicholas Vargas (1979-2024)
Nicholas Vargas, 45, of Waxhaw, North Carolina died of natural causes after two organ transplants on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Nicholas was born in Winter Park, Florida in 1979 to Julio C. Vargas and Roslyn Vargas, and was raised in South Florida. Nicholas attended Miramar Elementary, Pioneer Middle School and Western High School before studying culinary arts at Johnson & Wales and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, and going to work at Starwood Properties (Westin – Hollywood, Florida, W of Atlanta, the Melia and other properties and Kabob's in Morrow, Georgia).
Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandparents Nick Rivera and Julio and Elvira Vargas, and is survived by his parents, Retired Sergeant Julio C. Vargas and Dr. Roslyn Vargas, his sister Dr. Vera Woolard, his brother Sergeant Julio C. Vargas, Jr., his children Emily, Nicholas, and Ashton Vargas and their mother, Kristin; his nieces Jillian and Alexandra Vargas, and Madyson Woolard; his nephews Ryan Vargas and Brady Woolard. Let's not forget Bailey his fur baby, who traveled with him where ever Nicholas went.
Nicholas will always be remembered for his love of his children, family, and the kitchen. Nicholas spent countless of hours playing video games with his children and nephews.
Nicholas also leaves behind his best friend Nicholas Killgo and many other friends and co-workers who he stayed in touch with for so many years.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Holland Funeral Service 806 Circle Drive Monroe, NC 28112.
