Funeral services for Nicholas Americo D'Angelo will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 5, 2022,
at Saint John Vianney Church in Mentor. Friends will be received 4:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday,
May 4, 2022, at McMahon Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street, Mentor, OH 44060.
Nick was born February 23, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio to Americo and Alice (Sray) D'Angelo.
He passed away on April 23, 2022, in Painesville, Ohio. Nick was a long-time resident of Lake
and Geauga counties. His career in law spanned over three decades, serving as an attorney
and magistrate throughout Northeastern Ohio. Nick was a graduate of Akron University Law School (Class of 1987)
and a member of the Lake County Bar Association. An avid sports fan, golfer, and athlete, Nick was a three-time
All American and national champion in wrestling and Academic All American in football while at John Carroll University.
Nick was also a proud graduate of Lake Catholic High School. He continued his passion for athletics through coaching
and attending his children's sporting events - rain or shine. Nick was a true history buff and World War II aficionado.
He was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and had a passion for sharing his knowledge with those around him.
He valued quality time with family and friends, and most of all, loved to laugh. Nick is survived by his son,
Alexander Nicholas (Meredith); daughter, Carrington Leigh; mother, Alice; brother, Sal (Donna);
aunt, Amelita D'Angelo-Ritz; nephews and niece, Sam, Nicholas, and Natalie; and many beloved cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Americo.
