i went to the same school at same time.sadly never knew him,wish I had.only found out by chance,now doing much research.

Sadly missed, an inspirational truthful man who was not afraid to be controversial, fire in his belly and genius in his craft.
Handsome, witty , multitalented, I loved his acting and his music,
He will never truely die as his images and body f work live on.

I saw Nichol Williamson in "Uncle Vanya" in 1974 and, even though George C. Scott and Julie Christie were in it, he managed to obliterate them. He was in a class by himself.

I have only just heard the sad news of Nicol's passing. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity of working with him on a screenplay that he was going to both star in and direct. Sadly the film was never made, but I have fond memories of writing with him in Amsterdam. He was always charming and very funny. I was always aware that I was in the presence of a truly great artist. Nicol would always talk with great affection about his son, Luke, who I never met. The world is a far better place for having had Nicol Williamson in it.

My belated condolences. I have never, and do not make a habit or feeling sad for someone's passing I have never met but I feel compelled to as Mr Williamson's performance in 'The Reckoning' has been an inspiration to me at some low points. A true genius, but I doubt for a second you need anyone to tell you that.

I've always thought he was the greatest actor! My sincere condolences to family and friends.

So sorry for your loss, I loved that version of Merlin. I am sorry I don't know more of his work.

He was one of my favorite actors. I loved him as Sherlock Holmes in the Seven Per Cent Solution. Sending Love and Light to his friends and family.

My favorite quote from Nicol Williamson comes from Excalibur, when he says to Arthur as he's looking at a cookie: "Looking at the cookie is like looking at the future. Until you've tasted it, what do you really know? And then, of course, it's too late." A great actor who will be much missed.

My condolences to the family. A brilliant man and a great talent, He will be missed. I listen to the vinyl copy of The Hobbit I posses, often, in awe and appreciation.
