Nicolette Unruh Obituary
Survivors includes her husband Nate of the home; stepson, Tristen Uhl of Manhattan, Kansas; parents, Dale and Berny Unruh of Great Bend, Kansas; two brothers, Adam Unruh of Pawnee Rock, and Grant Unruh of Carleton, Nebraska; a sister, Danette Unruh of Esbon; grandmothers, Wynona Unruh of Great Bend and Carol Pachta of Belleville; in-laws, Bobby and Patricia Uhl of Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved dogs, Annie and Oakley.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Grant Olin Unruh and Edward Pachta.
Visitation with family receiving friends will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with vigil and rosary at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Manhattan, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2023, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Don Zimmerman presiding. Additional visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 and 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, both at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, Kansas. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Bergthal Mennonite Cemetery in Pawnee Rock, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been designated to the Pawnee Rock Easter Pageant, Ellsworth County 4-H, Russell County 4-H, Pawnee County 4-H Foundation or a cause near to your heart in memory of Nicolette in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

I met Nicolette in Manhattan in 2016 and she often mentioned how she wanted to open an Italian restaurant in town. I enjoyed our visits and wrote the poem below in 2017. I was so excited and pleased for her when her dream came true. When I saw her at Nico's, including a few weeks before her passing, she always came over to visit with me. That was Nicolette, so kind. Now, when I go to Nico's, I feel as though I'm visiting her.
ENOUGH

who I am is enough
what I do is enough
what I have is enough
it´s never enough
when we visit
next time
I´ll dig deeper
into her enough.
