Nieves Rivas

Nieves Rivas, age 82, ended a long battle with illness and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 27, 2025, at 12:57 PM at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Born on August 5 in Potosi, Bolivia, she lived a life full of love and kindness.
She is survived by her five loving daughters: Gloria F. Blanco, Maria del Rosario Blanco, Ana Maria de Guadalupe Blanco, Jennifer (Rocco) Ferraro, and Michelle Rivas. She was deeply devoted to her youngest daughter, Michelle. Nieves is also survived by her former husband, Hugo Rivas, the father of her daughters Jennifer and Michelle, who was by her side.
Nieves was known for her love of animals, nature, and her incredible culinary and dressmaking skills. She was the best cook, and her delicious meals brought joy to many. Her beautiful dressmaking creations were admired by all who knew her. Her sense of family was paramount, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.
