He was a unique creative genius, a kind, warm hearted, thinking person. Nik loved the world and everyone in it who was kind. He was generous and loved playing music. He loved music so much that he would play on big stages and small and would even busk; playing music was key fir Nik. Goodbye dear friend, oh how I miss you xxx

Met him when he played in Detroit, very friendly, lovely guy, played in the mood at the end after the gig. Rip Nik

I recall going somewhere in the (yellow?) van with the band and Nick saying "put your tongue out". Also returning from Phun City with MC5 and the gig in Belsize Park. What a great time. Thanks Nick.

This is very sad news. Hawkwind were an important part of my early teens and still have vivid memories of seeing them at Kingston Poly a couple of months before Silver Machine came out. I was 13 and intoxicated by the smell of incense and flashing of strobe lights. I wandered backstage (no security) and was so impressed by Nik in general. The way he dressed and carried himself. A kind of psychedelic swagger charged with cosmic energy. RIP Master of the Universe. The wind of time still blows through you.

Nik will be missed here in Cleveland. I am sad to learn of Nik's passing. He had a larger than life persona and will treasure the several times he came to Cleveland and played these small clubs. Had numerous opportunities to talk with him about the old days and he was always ready to tell a good story. I'll never forget the time when a friend and I helped Nik carry in his flute and saxaphone as a roadie!! He will be missed. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
