Nikolaos Haniotis

Nikolaos Haniotis, 80, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at his home in Kutztown after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Athena (Mavroyianni) Haniotis, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Panayiota and Jason Kane, Elias and Kally Haniotis; and Marouso Haniotis; and grandchildren, Nikoleta Athena Kane, Jason James Kane, and Christina Haniotis.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Nikolaos was a self-employed auto mechanic whose strong work ethic and deep sense of responsibility defined his life. Nikolaos came to the United States in 1971, and grew his skill for fixing things into a lifelong career. As the owner of his own auto repair business, he was known for his honesty, craftsmanship, and dedication to his customers. Nikolaos took pride in doing the job right. His hands were rarely still, and he was always quick to lend them whether helping a neighbor, guiding his children through a home project, or building something from scratch in one of his many garages.

In his retirement, Nikolaos never truly slowed down. He spent his days doing what he loved most, rebuilding cars, tending to his farm in Barto, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. Whether driving his grandchildren on his tractors, growing potatoes, or fixing anything needed around the house, he passed on not just knowledge, but a legacy of hard work and love.

He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his family, friends, neighbors.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church with interment at Zion Moselem Lutheran Cemetery, Moselem, PA to follow. The viewing will be held from 12:00 PM to the time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Sts.
