I was a rookie 24 year old head coach at McLouth HS in fall of 1972. It was Niles who provided invaluable help to me. He went to games, and helped me to become a better coach with his observations and tips. He loved football but also enjoyed helping others. Tonight, the last day of 2023, while talking to my assistant coach of that 1972 season, I decided to find Niles and try to meet-up to exchange a few stories and memories. But I was 23 years too late. Niles has left a little of himself behind with me. For that reason I want to leave this thought with Niles’ family. I appreciated his time and efforts but most of all I appreciated the kind of person he was. RCJHKU

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Niles Hauser. What a tragic thing to happen to a husband, father, brother & son at such an early age. I have known Niles and his family as long as I can remember, as we grew up going to the same church as kids. Niles lost his father at an early age, and one does not get over such a loss quickly or easily, if ever.
