Nina Greniger
1937-2023
Nina Greniger, age 86, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Majestic Pines in Grand Rapids, MN.
Nina was born July 26, 1937, to Philip and Dora Judy of Circleville, WV, where she lived and attended school. After graduation, she worked in Washington, DC, for two years as a clerk typist. There she met her husband, Gordon "Dick" Greniger, who was stationed at Andrews Field. They were wed in Circleville, WV on June 14, 1958, and moved to Blackberry, MN. Nina worked as a home health aide for 28 years and loved her job very much. She attended Salem Lutheran Church and was active with the women's club for many years along with volunteering at nursing homes. She kept busy helping anyone she felt could use a hug and some food. If you ever went away hungry from her house, it was your own fault.
Nina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; and brother, Harlan Judy. She is survived by her two sons, John "Rick" (Joni) Greniger of Grand Rapids, and Ronnie (Penny) Greniger of Cloquet; daughter, Diana (Wayne) Pierzina of Bovey; five grandchildren, Shane Greniger (Cailey Seanger), Brandon (Elea) Pierzina, Zach, Amber, and Natalie Greniger; great-grandchild, Kendall Greniger; step grandchildren, Andrea (Zach) Peterson, and Katie Youngberg; step great-grandchildren, Tucker and Steven Peterson, and Lulu Davidson; sisters-in-law, Amanda Judy, Clarice Miller, Edna Greniger, and Alice Greniger, who was her best friend for 65 years.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 1 PM at Salem Lutheran Church, Grand Rapids, MN followed by the 2 PM funeral service. Rev. Ty Rostvedt will be officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery after the service.
