Nina was the mother of a most beautiful woman, her daughter Margot.

Mrs. Hackett was my English HS teacher in 1996-1997. At the same time I was the president of the animal rights club, which was held weekly in her classroom. I bring her up to friends all the time. She taught me a great deal about literature and made me look at the world with empathy and vivid imagination.
My life is more colorful thanks to her.
Rest In Peace.

I am a USC alum and she was UCLA. She favored the vegetarian diet and I am a meat eater. We would have friendly bantering about these topics as well as others and share some laughs. She liked the Marmaduke cartoons and wouldn't hesitate to show us her favorites. I will always remember Nina's love of animals and her pleasant friendly demeanor. It was obvious she had a big heart which was easy to see when you experienced her warm smile.

Brother and sister.

My sweet Aunt sent this to me when I graduated from college, at age 40. I will treasure it always!! Thank you Aunt Nina for your love and support through out my life. I know that you are with the angels. Rest In Peace. I will see you again.

Nina wanted everyone to know I was her older brother - it made her feel younger when I was around.
Pearl and I were brought up in Milwaukee for our early years. She was "Pearl" named for a famous actress in those days (my name had to be a rhyme for her name.) Nina was her middle name to preclude the initials "PIE" using her mother's name of Ina.
Nina always had big dreams for her career i.e. airline stewardess, police woman, court reporter (stenotypist), foreign correspondent, medical doctor, literary expert (loved to go to plays her entire life) and book lover. Books were big in her life filling all the hallways empty rooms as well as the garage.
She was well educated with many Master degrees (she didn't know the number.)
Even though she was my sister, I have to admit her intelligence and knowledge in her field was something else.

Nina was an amazing person and one of my dearest friends. We had great times together and Nina always had her camera with her for pictures. We tried new crafts and we elevated shopping to a art.
She loved travel and had me wear her Lucky Gold Unicorn to get me past my fear and on a plane to D.C. with my family. She had an amazing literary and historical background and she also wanted to be current. We read the best sellers, went to movies and she wanted to learn all the new electronics. Nina bought the most complicated devices. We spent many afternoons trying to work new appliances and media. I am used to an I phone so had trouble figuring out the phones she bought. We we on a bus heading to Solvang in 2009 and we were trying to take pictures with her new phone and I picked up a television show.
She got me through many difficult times, and I hope I was able to do the same for her. I miss her.

A wonderful woman with some remarkable progeny. The fact that they are all assembling from great distances to pay final tribute is a testimony to her love for them. Although I only knew her briefly, her words were kind and gracious. It was a pleasure to communicate with her in her moments of calm and clarity, and to support those who provided her with joy and care. God bless her soul!
