Nina Page Obituary

Nina Musselman Page
May 25, 1924 - December 14, 2022
Raleigh, North Carolina - Nina Musselman Page, 98, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022. Nina's friends and family remember her as a sporty, fun loving woman who adored her family. She and her husband, Ernest Benjamin Page, met in medical school and married on March 20, 1948. They had five children. Nina was active in her children's lives by teaching them to cook, volunteering as a scout leader, teaching them to swim, and participating in school activities.
Nina was born on May 25, 1924 to Edgar and Bernice Musselman in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Duke University in 1945 and Duke University Medical School in 1949. She completed a pediatric internship at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. After raising her five children, she worked as a physician at Dorothea Dix Hospital and at North Carolina State University Student Health Service. Nina loved being a doctor. She was proud of starting a women's health clinic at the NCSU Student Health Service. She also gave talks about health issues to the Girl Scouts, to church youth groups, and on the radio.
Nina's faith was an important aspect of her life. She and Ernest joined White Memorial Presbyterian Church in 1955. Nina participated in Bible studies, attended circle meetings, taught Sunday School, and traveled to Mexico on multiple mission trips. She was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the Presbyterian Women of the Church for her commitment and service to White Memorial.
Nina will always be remembered for her extraordinary warmth and kindness. She was at many people's sides when they needed her most. Nina had a phenomenal memory, and she always took time to listen to people. She took great interest in everyone she met, rarely forgetting a name, and often remembering the smallest details of other people's lives.
Her family will never forget her good-humored competitive streak. She loved playing bridge, scrabble, boggle and other games with friends and family alike.
Nina is survived by her children: Judith Genaille (Richard), Ernie Page (Ann), Becky Pyrch, Susie Lodewijks (John) and her sister, Marian Mitchell. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Page Jr, daughter Peggy Page, and son-in-law Tom Pyrch. Nina's eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren fondly remember time spent with Oma, and will miss her dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff at Springmoor Life Care Community for the kind and loving care that they gave to Nina.
A memorial service for Nina will be held on January 6th at 2 PM at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held at Springmoor Life Care Community on January 7th at 2 PM in the Terrace Room in South Village. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to White Memorial Presbyterian Church or to the Springmoor Endowment Fund.

What a beautiful woman your mother was. She and your Dad were such special human beings. Always willing to listen, caring, and a wonderful example of what a Christian should be. Though I only worked for Dr Page for a short time, they always made us feel like family. Nina and I talked whenever we could over the past few years. I will miss her dearly. Jackie Hunnicutt

It was my privilege and an absolute Joy to be the neighbor of Ernie and Nina Page. They were witty and kind and the two loveliest souls imaginable and they brought much happiness into my life. Nina was the grandmother everyone wishes to have because she adored those children and was an advocate for them at all times while also being a model of manners.
She enjoyed being alive, surrounded by her family and she was so full of curiosity about everything, accompanied with a mischievous nature.

With great affection - and gratitude that Dr. Nina Page was always a few feet away when anyone needed her.
