Mrs. Niola Ruth Leach, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Cranberry Park of Clio, surrounded by her loving family.
Niola was born on December 28, 1933, in Millington to parents Floyd & Nilda (Lennox) Kitelinger. On May 9, 1953, she married the love-of-her-life, George A. Leach. Together they shared countless memories, raised their children, and celebrated 37 years of marriage before his passing in 1990. In her working years, Niola worked at Zehnder's of Frankenmuth for 20 years and assisted in fundraising with Wycoff Fundraising Company. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Birch Run.
She is survived by her children: Kendall (Kathy) Leach, Roger (Diane) Leach, Nila (Steve) Schmandt, and Tracey Baker; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Niola was preceded in death by her husband George (d. 1990); son, Mark Leach (d. 2009); grandson, Brock Leach (d. 2003); granddaughter, Shelly Dzienski (d. 2001); and son-in-law, Russ Baker (d. 2019).
Niola's family will receive visitors at Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025. Funeral services for Niola will follow at the St. Martin Lutheran Church (10995 Canada Road, Birch Run, MI 48415) at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025; additional visitation at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Niola will be laid to rest in Watertown Twp. Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be directed to Russ Baker Scholarship Fund and/or St. Martin Lutheran Church.
