Nita Bevers (née Pilkinton), born on December 24, 1941, in McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. She was 83 years old.

A woman of deep faith and unwavering devotion to her family, Nita lived a life marked by selflessness, strength, and creativity. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and offering comfort and purpose throughout the years. She was a dedicated member of her church community and held her beliefs close to her heart.

Nita's greatest joy came from being a mother. She always put her children before herself with sacrifice and courage that defined her character. Her love and commitment to her family were evident in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her daughters, Nita Smith and Lori Acosta, and her sons, Matthew Bevers and Clayton Bevers. And she is also survived by her grandkids. Tara Purvis, Derek Purvis, Taylor Bevers, Donovan Acosta, Destiny Acosta, Tyler Rosson, Illya, Dylan Acosta, Devin Acosta. And Great grandchildren Darian Acosta, Dalilah Acosta, Dezirae Acosta, Eisely Acosta-Treadway, Tillian Acosta-Treadway, Eevi Cook.

In addition to being a devoted mother, Nita was also a gifted artist and an accomplished crocheter. Her hands brought beauty into the world-whether through intricate crochet patterns or expressive works of art. These talents were not only creative outlets but also ways she shared warmth and love with those around her.

Nita's legacy lives on in the lives she touched with kindness, resilience, and grace. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
