Noah James Hilliard

Noah James Hilliard, 50, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away at 2:00 AM Thursday Aug. 3, 2023 at his parent's residence.
He was born April 13, 1973 in Burlington, Iowa to Merville and Carol Ann (Jungk) Hilliard; he married Tonya Chambers on April 13, 2000. She survives.
He is also survived by his parent's Merv and Carol Hilliard of Bushnell, Illinois, a son, Nathaniel Hilliard of Avon, Illinois; daughter's Krysta Hilliard of Bushnell, Illinois, Deanna Hilliard of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Cayden Patrick Payne, Braxton Lee Edward Combites and a sister, Nicole Lind of Rockford, Illinois
Noah was proceeded by his step son Brandon Shaw, his grandparents, Ed and Shirley Hilliard, grandparents Don and Mary Jungk, Aunt Ginger Hilliard, Aunt and uncle Judy and John Meyer, and an Uncle Lewis "scooter" Whisenhunt.
Noah learned to play the guitar when he was 8 and loved to play, he taught himself to play the banjo, ukulele, electric guitar, and the mandolin.
Noah had 3 dogs Bailey, Brody, and Benny that he loved and loved to spend time with and play with. He treasured any belongings of his grandparents and loved to listen to their stories and stories about them. He was always happy and joking around and loved wearing his bib overalls.
He loved camping, fishing, reading, shoot his guns, working on his house and cars and many other hobbies he loved to try new hobbies.
He attended Bushnell Prairie City Schools and loved playing football and admired his coaches especially Tony Ackers. Noah also attended Carl Sandburg but what removed from the class when the teacher found out Noah played the guitar better than the course required.
Noah was a mechanic in the national guard. Noah worked as a Correctional Officer at Henry Hill Correctional Center for 22 years until 2022.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday Aug. 8, 2023 at St. Bernards Catholic Church, where visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Father Eugene Radosevich will officiate. Cremation will be accorded after Mass. Burial of ashes will be at Ipava Cemetery with Military rites at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bushnell Police Dept.
