Noble Dean Manley, Jr., passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at his home in Hendersonville, TN, at the age of 82. Born on June 5, 1943, Noble's life was a testament to his intelligence, loving nature, and unwavering dedication to his family and faith.
Noble's journey began as the cherished son of Noble Dean Manley, Sr. and Dora Jeanette Gooch Manley. He grew up surrounded by a loving family and eventually pursued an education in civil engineering at Tennessee State University. Noble's professional life was marked by his long-standing tenure with the General Electric Company in Bloomington, IL. Following his retirement, he continued to share his expertise and work ethic at Circuit City and CarMax in Charlotte, NC, and Nashville, TN.
While Noble's career was a significant aspect of his life, his heart was always centered on his family and faith. Noble was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Sylvia Smith Manley, and a guiding force for his children, Horlin Carter Jr. with wife Leslie, Noble Dean Manley, III, daughters Dawn Michelle Beverly, and Tracy Carter. He was a proud brother to Dwight Pate and Gwendolyn Manley Smith and her husband John. Noble's legacy of love and guidance will live on through his eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as the numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him.
Noble's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He was an active member of his home church, Cerro Gordo Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, TN, and also attended the Celebration of Life Church in Hendersonville, TN.
Noble's passing was preceded by that of his dear parents, Noble Dean Manley, Sr. and Dora Jeanette Gooch Manley, as well as his brothers Jesse B. Manley, Joe Harold Manley, Foster L. Manley, and sister Elaine Jones. His life was a beautiful tapestry of connections, and those who have gone before him surely welcomed him with open arms.
As we mourn the loss of Noble Dean Manley, Jr., we also celebrate a life extraordinarily well-lived. He was a man who embodied the best of us: faith-filled, loving, and intelligent. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will forever be a light in the lives of those he touched. Noble's journey on earth may have concluded, but the impact of his life's work and the love he shared will resonate for generations to come.
