Another 4 years has gone by and I can still laugh, sing and cry with my Nobu memories.

I still have pictures and lots of memories. Nobuko and I were at Chaffey High School in Ontario, CA. She spent a lot of time at my house and I at her house. When she went to UCLA, I went to Omaha, Ne. for nursing school. But we always kept in touch. I visited her and she visited me. She came with Ed to Mendocino several times when they lived in Clayton. She still makes me smile!

Nobu,
I want you to know I love and miss you-even more than ever. You passed from us way too soon. You have held a special place in my life always. And there was so much I wanted to share with you and experience with you. I prefer to remember all the good times. AND there were so many. I love you.

I remember how gracious you both were to Doug (Russell)& me when we picked up my car from Hawaii. The laughter we shared that evening in your love filled home flowed easily. Nobuko served a wonderful meal and made me feel so at ease. Nobuko exuded style and class. To have known her even briefly added to my life. I am greatly saddened by your loss.

What we loved most about Nobuko was her sense of fun and love of life.
She will be missed by many.

I was devastated to hear from Marcia Weeks of Nobuko's passing. I was "the other Marcia" in her life, the one who Marcia told me she thought of often. I had tried,to no avail, to get hold of her years after we lost touch in high school. Nobuko was the one old high school friend who I wanted to get reacquainted with, to share old memories and to get to know over again. I am so sorry to have missed my chance.
I did'nt know Nobuko as an adult but the fond memories I have during our brief friendship in adolescence will keep her spirit alive.
Sincerely,
Marcia (Bernt) Stumpf

Dear Ed--
Reading all of the heartfelt reminiscenes and acknowledgements of Nobuko's impact on people's lives makes me truly regret that I never had the pleasure to meet her myself. What a wonderful and caring woman she was to have had such a positive influence on the lives of family, friends, and colleagues. Please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss.

Ed:
May the wonderful memories and times spent together sustain you. We had so many great times with both of you. The ice fishing trip when she tried to talk Dick into not being "cheap" so he would buy me a machine. The wonderful "surprise" birthday party we gave her with all the nasty gifts. What we relish with the good times is the friendship and unconditonal love she always gave to both of us. We loved her very much. She fought a courageous battle. We know she is at peace and in a better place. God bless you Ed for always being there for her and givng back to her the unconditional love she gave to so many.Know that you and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Nobu brought joy into the lives of so many people. Just cooking a meal was a special event when she was at the helm. And, there have been lots of dnner and visits to think back on since our days at UCLA. We have been separated by geography for many years. This never dimnished the closeness I felt toward her or the pleasure of an unexpected phone call. I will miss her laugh and her way of finding a cheery side to even the most tedious chore. Her sunny spirit is now her legacy to all of us.

Hi Ed,
I have followed your exciting adventures vicariously through Jean and Michael for the past several years. It seems like yesterday when we were all living happily in Tucson unaware of what life would bring our way. In the days ahead, think back on those days and remember all of the good times...you truly were blessed.....and a blessing to all of us who were lucky enough to cross your path. You will be in my prayers..........Suki

Dear, Dear Ed,
From Tucson to Scottsdale to Anchorage to Cleveland to Clayton is the part of your journey with Nobuko that I followed. I have met few couples so in love as you two, so I know the next journeys will be tough. She was such a wonderful woman. So full of fun and life and love. She was a worthy part of so many lives. Know that you were loved by the best, but know that you are also loved by many. I will see you at the service.
Love, Paul

Uncle Ed, you have my deepest sympathies.
Auntie Nobuko always made me laugh, and could give and take with great grace and humour. I will always treasure my memory of the thank you note for our wedding gift, and how she called Auntie Mickey to verify what happened.
You will be in my thoughts, now and always. The right words fail me, but I hope you know that Bob and I send you our sincerest condolences. I am sorry I am unable to attend the service.
Love,
Janet
