Noel Kallevig, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at Bismarck Hospital after a brief fight with cancer, with his daughter by his side.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Weigel Funeral Home, 309 4th Ave. NW, Mandan, with a prayer service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Noel was born December 15, 1953, in Sidney, Montana, to Clifford and Vivian (Strobeck) Kallevig. He was affectionately known to his siblings as "Bimbo." He was raised and educated in Sidney and graduated from Sidney High School.
After graduation, Noel worked a variety of jobs across Montana, Washington, Wyoming, and North Dakota. He did a bit of everything: oilfield work, painting houses (his favorite trade), driving tow trucks, and caring for residents in group homes.
In June of 1981, he married Denise Johnson, and together they welcomed their daughter Shannon. Noel became a stepdad to Jeff, Ronette, and Michelle, too. The couple later divorced. In 1988, he married Jo Harvey and together they had two daughters, Alyssa and Kama, and gained a step-son in Jo's son Zach.
Noel was a North Dakota lottery faithful - winning the 2x2 not once, but four times. He enjoyed playing online poker as well as trying to become a pool "shark" the last couple years and was a member of Pool League. He was a fan of the WWE, history/news, football, AC/DC and his daughter Shannon's dart team, who he cheered for on league night. He was also a great cook and loved to have thanksgiving feasts and bbq/cookouts. In more recent years, as Noel got older he let his daughter Shannon do the cooking and he loved to enjoy all her meals!
In April of 2019 he had a critical health scare and Noel hung up his drinking days for a few years, but not his social life. He still made the rounds at local bars, greeting the regulars and probably flirting just enough to stay in practice. Noel had a good sense of humor that could lighten any room.
He is survived by his daughters Shannon (Chandler LaRock) Dunn, Kama (Alex) Kelley, and Alyssa (Chris) Johnson; grandchildren Malachai, Kyarra (Caleb), Keltic (Karrah), Dymetria, Zayden, Kaylee, and Kalley; great-grandkids Ezra and Azyah; sister Julie; and brother Jerome.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Vivian; brothers Kendal and Randall; step-son Zach and his beloved Doberman, Cannabis.
Noel's family invites everyone to remember him with a smile, a story, and maybe a lottery ticket (you never know!).
