Rochelle, Georgia - Nora Mae Bass, 80, of Rochelle, Illinois, sadly passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at her residence. She was born to the late William Oscar Ray and Emma Mae Wade Walden. Nora had a deep love for studying and reading her Bible. She was artistic and enjoyed painting, drawing, and putting puzzles together. She found joy in creativity and quiet moments of reflection. She is survived by her daughters, Trena Darlene Ford (Cullen) of Pitts and Tia Michele Saporito (Don) of Centerville, Tennessee; her sisters, Annelle Ray, Joyce Ann Betts (Lamar), and Teresa Lynn Batten; her grandchildren, David Kyle Reed (Morgan), Kimberly Danielle Ledford (Jordan), and William Cullen Ford (Ashleigh); her great-grandchildren, Daniel Lee Clark, Brantly Kole Clark, and James Banks Reed; and a niece/daughter, Lisa Dyan Hicks. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Bass; her son, James David Reed; her sister, Alice June Brantley; and her grandchildren, Amanda Noel Ford and Krystan Chanele Henry. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Rainey's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
