Nora Garcia, a vibrant spirit whose laughter could light up a room, passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on February 1, 1983, in the bustling city of Houston, Texas, Nora's life was a tapestry woven from threads of love, joy, and the warmth of family gatherings.
Growing up in Houston, she cultivated her passion for the culinary arts, graduating from local schools and later pursuing her dreams at Culinary School. Her culinary journey led her to Casa Olé Restaurant, where she became known not only for her remarkable cooking skills but also for her engaging personality that brought joy to her patrons and colleagues alike.
Nora was a woman of boundless generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her talkative nature and sharp sense of humor made her a cherished friend, ensuring that every interaction was infused with laughter and affection. It was her innate ability to bring family together that shone brightest during holidays, creating cherished memories that will linger in the hearts of her loved ones.
In her leisure, Nora found joy in cooking and baking, experimenting with new recipes, and sharing her creations with those around her. Her love for thrifting allowed her to discover hidden treasures, which she relished incorporating into her home and life.
Nora leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory dear. Her mother, Herminia Garcia, and stepfather, Joel Ramirez, remain as pillars of strength in the wake of this loss. She is also survived by her husband, Sergio Valdez, her brother, Raul Garcia, and her sisters, Gloria and Nancy Garcia. Additionally, she will be fondly remembered by her stepson, Angel Saldana, as well as by her seven nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit.
Nora is preceded in death by her sister, Veronica A. Garcia, and her beloved father, Juan Garcia, both of whom now watch over her from above.
Visitation services will be held on October 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and October 24, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at Integrity Funeral Home, located at 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd, Houston, Texas. A further visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the same day at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
