Nora Grubb

Nora Maxine Bean Grubb, 82, of Asheboro, died Friday, December 12, 2025 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Town of Denton Cemetery, with Rev. Mark Hall officiating.

Born on October 3, 1943, in Davidson Co., NC, Mrs. Grubb the daughter of the late Ervin Bean and Lena Daniel Bean. She grew up in Denton, NC, where she met the love of her life, Lanny Grubb. They were married in 1963, moved to Asheboro, and raised their three children. She retired from Randolph Hospital, Food Services Department.

Maxine loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking meals for all of her grandchildren to come together and laugh together. Seeing her great grandchildren always put a big smile on her face. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Lanny D. Grubb, her son, David D. Grubb, and her daughter, Donna Lee Grubb Holder.

She is survived by her son, Alan Grubb and wife Michele; grandchildren, Lindsey Grubb Oxendine and husband Anthony, Cody Holder, Laura Grubb, Taylor Grubb Johnson and husband DJ, Jessica Holder Webster and husband, Logan, Charles Holder, Leah Grubb, William Holder; great grandchildren, Lillie Johnson, Halston Webster; sisters, Hilda Goins and husband Jimmy, and Betty Loflin and husband Roby.
