Nora “Nonie” Olson Obituary
Nora B. “Nonie” Olson, 99, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, October 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 11, 1926, in West Palm Beach FL, the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Nicholls) Hendee. Nonie married Herbert Olson in Beloit, WI on September 2, 1944. He passed away on January 16, 2006. She was a longtime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and she and Herb loved their trips to Las Vegas.
Nonie is survived by her son, Jeff (Becky) Olson of Winter Garden, Fl and her daughter, Susan Anderson of Rockford; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Hickey, Holly (Alex) Wemmer and Candi Buelow; her great-grandchildren, Addison (Jacksen) Marshall, Fiona Corey, Faith Wemmer, Landon, Meadow and Lola Buelow and Lauren Hickey; her great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte Marshall; her foster daughter, Laura Eckstrom of Rice Lake, WI and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her husband, Herbert and her brothers, Wayne and Robert Hendee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St. Rockford, with Reverend Rob James officiating. You may view the service online at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Rockford Facebook Live, click here or the link below. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church on Friday. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford.
