A Celebration of Life Service for Nora W. Scott, 96 of Jeffersonville, Indiana, formerly of Newark, will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Bruce Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Nora was born in Cherokee, Alabama on April 11, 1926 to the late Martin and Augusta (Holiday) Hill. She went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2023.
Nora was a devoted homemaker to her family and was a devoted member of Trinity AME Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Most important in her life was the time she spent with her loving family and friends.
Survivors include a granddaughter, LaDonna Scott; sister, Peggy Keesee; brother, Larry W. Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Scott and two daughters, Annette Lawrence and Marilyn Williams.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nora to Trinity AME Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
