FORT JENNINGS -- Norene P. Ricker, 97, of Fort Jennings, passed away at 8:38 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born March 1, 1928, in Landeck, Ohio to the late Louis J. and Olivia (Clement) Rahrig. On August 20, 1949, she married Richard C. Ricker, who preceded her in death on March 13, 2023.
Norene is survived by seven children: John "Jack" (Tonda) Ricker of Fort Jennings, Carol (Neal) Barnard of Elida, Donald (Maria) Ricker of Lima, Susan (John) Gerdeman of Kalida, Lisa (Larry) Beining of Ottoville, Kevin (Brenda) Ricker of Fort Jennings and Brian (Julie) Ricker of Findlay; twenty-five grandchildren; sixty-two great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Dale (Marilyn) Ricker; sisters and brothers-in-law: Angela (Virgil) Ricker, Rosemary (James) McPheron and Sr. Eleanor Rahrig; and brother and sister-in-law, Michael (Mildred) Rahrig.
Norene was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fort Jennings. She was exceptional in the kitchen and loved to bake. She enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends. Norene was very proud of her family and loved spending time with them.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fort Jennings with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, with a scripture service beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township and again on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass at the church.
