Norman M. Roy, 73, of Auburn, NH passed peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 25, 2024.
Norm was born August 29, 1950 to John and Pauline (St. Onge) Roy, he was the second child of five born to them, residing in Goffstown, NH and Manchester, NH.
Norm graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, Manchester, NH in 1969. During his youth, Norm excelled in baseball, primarily playing the position of catcher. During his teenage years, he began working with his father at John M. Roy Plumbing and Heating, continuing after graduation. Norm married his love, Diane (Caron) in 1969 and they started their family, having three children and residing in Auburn, NH. Norm went to work for Denron Plumbing and Heating in Manchester, NH, acquiring his Master Plumber’s license while continuing his education and excelling in his field. Norm became a co-owner of Denron, eventually retiring in 2020.
Norm loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter, a hobby he shared with his father, which became a passion for him. He was a sports enthusiast, always cheering on the New England teams and hosting weekly Patriots game get-togethers and Super Bowl parties. Norm also enjoyed spending the winter at his and Diane’s second home in Punta Gorda, FL, fishing, traveling, and playing cards, whether with friends or visiting Foxwoods Casino.
Norm was so excited and proud to become Grampy to Archer and looked forward to spending time with him, watching him grow.
Norm is survived by his wife of almost fifty-five years, Diane, son, John of Auburn, NH and his partner, Anne Odell and her son, Carter, his daughter, Lynn Hamel, of Hooksett, NH and her husband, Kevin and his son, Logan, son Michael, of Jonesborough, TN and his wife, Jennifer and their son, Archer. He is also survived by Tootsie, the ever loyal and loving Dachshund that he and Diane adopted nine years ago.
In addition to his immediate family, Norm is survived by his older brother, Ronald Roy and his wife, Paulette of Estero, FL, his younger brother, William Roy of Manchester, NH, an aunt, cousins, many brothers and sisters in-law, nephews, nieces, cherished friends, neighbors and his Denron family.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother, David and his younger sister, Diane and her husband, David Lanctot.
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 3:00 - 4:00pm at Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
