I knew Norma Boucher as Frau Boucher at John Adams High School. Studying the German language was such a joy with Frau Boucher. There are words, phases and structure of the language that I still remember because of her excellent teaching. She and Thomas were so encouraging of my singing and my love for German Lieder. I even made my college audition tape in their home! When I graduated from Adams in 1971, Mr. and Mrs. Boucher gave me a volume of Schubert Lieder and the Bible auf Deutsch, which I still have. I have such fond memories of her kindness and friendship!

I would like to express my condolences to the family of Frau Boucher. I had the great honor of her being my German teacher at John Adams High School during 1968-1971. She was a great educator who cared deeply about her students. We had very small classes which allowed you to reap the true benefit of the student/teacher relationship. I learned so much from her and she definitely left a lasting impression on me. Unfortunately, in later years I never got the opportunity to let her know how much she was appreciated. I'm so sorry for your loss, and for others who had the privilege of knowing, working with, and learning from her. May God, her memories, and what she meant to me bring you comfort during this most difficult time.
