Norma Thomas Cloward, 86, passed away on February 16, 2026 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on June 13, 1939 in Ferron, Utah to John and Minnie Thomas.
Norma was very involved in school in her younger years serving as Class President, she was Prom Queen and played drums in the marching band.
Norma married Gary Albert Cloward on June 24, 1960 in Ferron, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 14, 1965.
Norma worked for Jordan School District in food service for 30 years (they were the lunch ladies with matching aprons). Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Norma was also known as the “The Snoopy Grandma”. Norma loved her snoopy! She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and grandma great!
A special thanks to Alta View Hospital, Dr. Smith, nurse Ivy and her hospice nurse Shelly for their tender care.
Norma is survived by her children Wendy Cloward-White, Lance (Katherine) Cloward, Robby (Denise) Cloward; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one sister LaRue Harvey; and two brothers Ray Thomas and Gordan Thomas. Preceded in death by her husband Gary, one son, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 10:30 to 11:45 AM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale. Graveside service to follow at 12:00 PM at Midvale City Cemetery, 450 West 7500 South, Midvale.
