Norma Elizabeth Van Dyke, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cherished friend, and esteemed school teacher, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 84. Born on August 24, 1941, in Bullard, Texas, Norma dedicated 37 years of her life to educating and shaping the minds of countless students before retiring from her teaching career.

Throughout her years in the classroom, Norma exhibited qualities that left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues alike. Known for her no-nonsense approach and blunt honesty, she also exuded warmth and kindness once one was able to break through her outer shell. Her generosity and wisdom made her a mentor to many; she was always caring and giving to others, embodying the qualities of a truly remarkable educator.

Norma had a range of interests that brought joy to her life, with a particular fondness for westerns and crime dramas. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly found within her family, reflecting the deep love and devotion she held for those closest to her heart.

The legacy of Norma Elizabeth Van Dyke will be celebrated during a visitation on November 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. Following this, a funeral service will be held on November 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home. Norma will then be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 PM the same day.

Her passing leaves a significant void in the lives of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to influence and inspire all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.
