Norma Jean Feller

Norma Jean (Wykes) Feller went to be with the Lord Friday, November 4, 2022. Norma Jean was born on a farm near Dunkirk, Ohio, on February 1, 1927 to Herbert and Mary Wykes. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Wharton High School. One of her memories of high school was participating in a high school play as Zenith, a maid, who loved to escape work. Norma Jean married Paul F. Feller on February 23, 1949 at First Assembly of God in Findlay, Ohio. She and Paul had five daughters. They moved to Springfield, Missouri, in 1959, where she has lived since. Norma Jean's first love was always Jesus. She was active in church from a child. She supported Paul as they pastored a church in Monroeville, Ohio, and later in his ministry to boys in Royal Rangers. In Springfield, they attended Central Assembly of God for many years. After moving to south Springfield in their later years, they attended Parkcrest Assembly of God, now Life360. Norma Jean played piano in the church they pastored and taught Sunday school in later churches. She was active for years in the Ladies Auxiliaries of Central Bible College and Evangel University. Her true calling was her husband, home, and family; and teaching her girls, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to know the love of Jesus.
Norma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fay Feller; her parents, Herbert and Mary (Clinger) Wykes; and her sister, Irene Wykes. She is survived by her five daughters, Karen Strong of Dillard, Georgia; Dawn Hartman and Cheryl Feller of Springfield, Missouri; Sandra Bearden of Stockton, Missouri; and Jana Flener of Kent, Washington. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Brad Strong, Saraya Foster, David Hartman, Vincent Bearden, Nicholas Bearden, Justin Andrus-Bearden; and nine great-grandchildren: Dakota Hartman; Andrew, Luke, and Evan Strong; Benjamin and Abigail Bearden; and Kendra, Elijah, and Ruth Andrus-Bearden.
Viewing will be at the Maranatha Chapel on Wednesday November 9th, 2022 at 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 2:00 pm, and a brief graveside commital at Greenlawn North Memorial Gardens across the road from the funeral home. Streaming of the service will be available.
