Norma Jane Johnston, born on October 14, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 1, 2026, in her lifelong home in Sunnyvale. She was the cherished wife of Fred Johnston for 61 devoted years and a loving mother to her daughters, Marcy Odom and Stacy Hickman. Norma's pride and joy were her grandchildren, Nickolette and Chandler Odom, who brought her immense happiness.
Norma was known for her passion for gardening and cooking. She delighted in nurturing her plants and preparing meals for family and friends, often stating that there was no greater pleasure than sharing her culinary creations with others. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, her faith guided her through life and shaped the loving spirit she shared with everyone around her.
She is survived by her daughters, son-in-law Chad Odom, son-in-law John Hickman, her beloved grandchildren, her sister Carol Ashley. Norma will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing nature, and the joy she brought into the lives of all she encountered.
A visitation will be held on March 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM, preceding the funeral service at 2:00 PM, both to take place at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at 500 US Highway 80 E, Sunnyvale, TX 75182. The family invites all who knew and loved Norma to join in the celebration of her life.
