Norma Lee (Kinder) (Jakulski) Kendall, age 95, died on December 19, 2025 due to congestive heart failure.
She was born in Golden Eagle, to Albert and Elizabeth Kinder, January 3, 1930. Norma married Stanley Jakulski on August 9, 1947 (divorced August 1956, deceased July 5, 1978). God blessed them with three children; Steven of Mineral, VA, Ricky of Bethalto, IL, and Christopher of Roswell, GA (deceased).
In addition to her sons; Norma is survived by four grandchildren, Viki, Justin, Jessica, and Christian; four great-grandchildren, Brendan, Schyler, Brooklyn, and Julianna; two great-great-grandchildren, Audrey and Samantha; three nieces, Velva, Sharon, and Susan; and two nephews, Terry and Gary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, "Hal" of California, Kenneth of Bethalto, IL, and Gaeraldine of Cottage Hills, IL. Being in the Air FOrce, Norma and Stan lived in many places; Albany, Biloxi, Newark, Scott Air Force Base outside St. Louis, and Bermuda.
Norma married Bruce Kendall on December 31, 1963. They divorced on September 12, 1972. While married, they ran Kendall's grocery store in Pleasant Hill, IL.
Norma moved to Bethalto in 1972. She had many hobbies; painting people and animals was one of her favorites. Norma belonged to Artists Guilds; selling her works and working on commissions. She was a member of the Toastmastser Club, sang, and loved dancing and bowling. Norma played on softball teams, enjoyed fishing, dealing in antiques, and was exercise conscious. She held numerous jobs to provide for her family. Norma was a waitress, office clerk, accountant and worked in civil service at ATCOM, STL, retiring as a Inventory Manager. She also worked as a Shaklee Supervisor in her spare time.
A service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Bethalto on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Tom Liebler officiating. The Rosary will be said prior to low Mass.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto will oversee arrangements.
