Norma J. Loss, age 88, passed away on August 2, 2025, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1937, to Gerrit and Dortha (Nelund) Vredeveld in Muskegon. She was a longtime member of Hope Reformed Church, where she served in many roles. Before retiring in 2001, she worked as a head cook for Muskegon Food Services for 25 years. She enjoyed baking and was an avid card sender to people she loved and cared for. On February 8, 1957, she married Donald Loss, and they were married for 68 years. SURVIVORS include her husband, Donald; three children, Donna (Jeff) Ulray, Steven (Judy) Loss, Wendy (Norbert) Esser; son-in-law, Manuel Fierro; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Judy) Vredeveld; and sisters-in-law, Mary Vredeveld, Diane Vredeveld, and Alice Vredeveld. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alan Vredeveld, Brian Vredeveld, and Michael Vredeveld; and sister, Kathleen (Garth) Cooper; daughter, Melody Fierro, and granddaughter, Jillian Loss. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Hope Reformed Church, 1878 Evanston Ave., with Pastor Steven Hyma officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Burial will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
