Norma Lulich Obituary

Norma Morovich Lulich, age 94, passed away on January 23, 2024. Norma was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 21, 1929; and was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony John Morovich and Helena Kacinich Morovich; her siblings, Anthony Philip Morovich and Anna Morovich Rickoll (Lloyd); her grandson, Walter Mitchell Whiteside; and her loving and beloved husband of 62 years, Mitchell Dragutin Lulich. She is survived by three children, Michael Lulich (Peggy), Malayne DeMars (Robert), and Margo Whiteside (Bates); four grandchildren, Kelly Lulich (Dustin Naquin), Mitchell Lulich, Matthew Lulich, and Sadie Whiteside; and three great-grandchildren, Salvadore Signorelli, Bowman Naquin, and Quinn Naquin. Norma graduated from St. Leo the Great School, St. Mary's Dominican High School, and Dominican College. She married Mitchell Lulich on August 5, 1950; and they co-owned Lulich Brothers Orange Grove and Winery in Triumph, Louisiana with Mitchell's mother (Mary) and brother (Anthony). They later owned Lower Coast Lumber Company and Mitchell Lulich Construction Company in Plaquemines Parish, and then Mitchell went on to a long and successful insurance career (New York Life). They moved back to New Orleans in 1965 after Hurricane Betsy; and since 1969 lived in Timberlane Estates in Gretna. Norma enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and painting; and was a member of Magnolia Homemakers, Timberlane Garden Club, West Bank Art Guild, Shamrock Investment Club, and Croatian American Society. Norma prayed the Rosary daily, and was a Eucharistic Minister and member of St. Cletus Catholic Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 am; Father Patrick Carr officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please honor Norma with Masses, or donations in her memory to Raphael Village, 530 Jackson Ave., New Orleans, LA 70130; www.raphaelvillage.org.
