December 16, 1946 - July 8, 2025
BLOOMINGTON - Norma Rae Nuckels, 78, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Luther Oaks.
Her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Chuck Bahn officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School.
Norma was born on December 16, 1946, in Bloomington, to Delmar C. and Midred A. Lartz Martens. She married David Nuckels on August 16, 1969, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2012.
Survivors include her daughter, Brooke (Adam) Richards; brother, William (Joyce) Martens; grandchildren, Alexandria, Aaden, and Jayce; and brother-in-law, Steve (Marsha) Nuckels. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joel C. Martens; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Martens.
Norma was a longtime member at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was employed as bookkeeper with Paxton's for many years, until her retirement on December 23, 2005. Norma was an avid gardener and she found joy in card games, especially playing bridge with her friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved the tradition of making Christmas cookies with her grandchildren every year. Norma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
