Norma Cecelia Paytas Vranjes, 89, of W. Clen Moore Blvd, died Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Clen Moore Place in New Castle, PA. She was born on May 28, 1936, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (DeLorenzo) Tavolieri. Mrs. Vranjes worked at St. Francis Hospital and Jameson Hospital as a registered nurse, retiring after 45 years. She volunteered at Jameson Hospital in the gift shop and loved to help people. She was the past president and past Women of the Year for the American Businesswomen’s Association. She enjoyed playing cards, and above all, she loved spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by three children, Anita Shekletski and her husband Jerry of Sewickley, PA, Becky Hoppe and her husband Rick of New Wilmington, PA, and Jerome Paytas and his wife Beth of San Diego, CA, seven grandchildren, Anne, Nick, Leah, Josh, Ben, Emma, and Abby, and three great-grandchildren, Lily, Jack, and Nora.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by both of her husbands, Jerome Paytas and John Vranjes, and one brother, Larry Tavolieri.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, from 7:30 to 8:30 AM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 19, 2025, at 9:00 AM, at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Camillus Church. Father Ben Barr will officiate. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
