Norma Lee (Perryman) Perry, affectionately known as "Granny," was born on December 15, 1933, in
Springfield, Missouri, where she grew up surrounded by her large and loving family. She passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones who cherished her deeply and will continue to carry her spirit in their hearts.
On April 1, 1950, Norma married the love of her life, Paul Jr. Perry. Together, they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage before Paul's passing in 2014. Their union was blessed with two children: a son, Gerald Lee Perry (deceased), who was married to Dyellen Perry, and a daughter, Deborah June Perry, who is engaged to Paul Gaston.
Norma's faith was central to her life, guiding her with strength, resilience, and compassion. She lived her faith through kindness, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Norma's family was the center of her world. She adored her grandchildren, Michelle Keithley and her brother Andrew Starnes, Christa Stephens, and bonus grandchildren Michelle Hull and Johnnie Jones.
She cherished her role as "Granny" most of all. She was blessed with great-grandchildren Caitlin Carman and Zachary Keithley, Dyellen's grandson Matthew Jones, and her bonus great-grandchild, Cameron Howard. Each of them brought her joy, laughter, and love, and she took pride in watching them grow. She delighted most in spoiling her family with love, thoughtful gifts, and unwavering support.
The daughter of the Perryman family, Norma, was one of 10 children, blessed with four sisters and five brothers. Among them, she shared a special bond with her sisters Bonnie Boatright and Shirley Marler and her brother Lloyd Delbert Perryman, who survives her.
Norma lived a long and vibrant life, filled with passions that reflected her kind and creative spirit. She loved her swimming classes, reading books, making crafts, quilting, and crocheting afghans. She was also an avid NFL fan, proudly cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
She will be remembered not only for her talents and hobbies but also for her warm spirit, feisty attitude, generosity, and devotion to family. Norma had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her strength and resilience, especially in her later years, were a true inspiration to those around her.
Her main caregivers toward the end of her life were her daughter Debby, her granddaughter Christa, Christa's husband, Case Howard, and his son Cameron, her granddaughter Michelle, Debby's fiancé Paul. Their love and care were a reflection of the devotion Norma gave so freely throughout her life.
Norma's legacy is one of love, resilience, faith, and family. She leaves behind many relatives, lifelong friends, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.
