Norma Lee Forbes Rice was born near Ralston, Oklahoma on March 21, 1932 to Elza Lee Forbes and Edna VanCleave Forbes. She passed away on September 23, 2025 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Norma’s youth was spent in Ralston, Oklahoma. She graduated from Ralston High School in May, 1950.
On April 14, 1951 she married Kenneth Rice in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time of Kenneth’s death in 2022 they had been married over 71 years.
Their early married life was spent in Ralston and Ponca City. In the 1960’s they moved to the Masham area.
Norma worked several years in the Pawnee County Treasurers office. After their retirement they enjoyed going on bus trips throughout the United States. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Norma was a member of Pawnee First Baptist Church.
Norma was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers, W.G. Forbes, Ray Forbes and an infant brother.
Norma is survived by daughter, Debbie Lee and husband, Ron; son, Kent Rice and wife, Jeanette all of Edmond, son, Robert Rice of Texas. Also, grandchildren, Katie Maes, Alex Rice, Zack Lee, Evan Rice, Lane Rice, and Reid Rice. Norma had four great grandsons, Braylon and Hudson Maes and Bennett and Brooks Lee.
Graveside Services will be held Monday September 29, 2025 in the Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, Oklahoma with Pastor John Coker officiating. Services were entrusted to the Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services, friends can leave a memory for the family at www.poteetfuneralhome.com
