Norma Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation on Jan. 14, 2026.
Norma Jean Stone Smith, 57, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. Norma was born August 6, 1968 in Vermont to parents, the late Arthur Leamon Stone and Elsie Jane Winchell.

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Hope Valley Hawkins.

Norma was always happy and had a smile on her face anytime you saw her. Prior to her health decline, she worked with the elderly in nursing facilities, keeping them company and lending a hand where she could. Norma loved her soda, Pepsi or Coke, either was fine in her book. She enjoyed staying home and spending time with her family, who she loved dearly. Norma was also fiesty and didn't sugar coat anything, telling it like it was.

In addition to her beloved parents, Norma was also preceded in death by her sisters: Rose Cram and Linda Cram, as well as brother: John Desabaris.

Left to cherish the memory of Norma are her son: Theodore Smith of New York, sister: Pamela Rodriguez of North Carolina, and brothers: Jerry Winchell of Vermont, Richard Stone of Vermont, and Arthur Stone, Jr. of North Carolina. Norma was also grandmother to two grandchildren.
