Norma Florence Corns Stamper, age 79, of Petersville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at her daughter's residence, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 31,1946, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Norman and Anna Florence Monteith Corns.

Norma's greatest passion was teaching kids. When she was young, she had Rheumatic Fever and had to drop out of school. But that didn't stop her from learning. Much later, she was able to her GED and she went to college for early childhood education, when she was in her 50's and got an Associates Degree. Although she never taught at a school she was always teaching. She helped raise her brothers and sisters,, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews. She taught Sunday school and loved Bible Trivia. She loved art and creating, doing arts and crafts with children, pottery and flower arrangements. She also loved cooking and watching cooking shows and growing her own vegetables and herbs. She had the biggest heart, the warmest hugs and the sweetest smile.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Corns and Timothy Corns.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, James Samuel Stamper; one son, Douglas Evans Jr. Of Petersville, Kentucky; two daughters, Samantha (Terry) Irwin of Maysville, Kentucky, Anna Evans (Joseph Roberts) of Elsmere, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Veronica Evans, Jonathon Grey, Austin Smith, Damon Smith; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Irwin, Christyan Carroll, Nevah Thomas, Ethan Thomas; three brothers, Charles (Jenny) Corns, Richard Corns of Vanceburg, Kentucky, Jeffrey (Sue) Corns all of Vanceburg, Kentucky; three sisters, Shirley Jordan of Portsmouth, Ohio, Joni Corns of Petersville, Kentucky, Kathy McClurg of Vanceburg, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 11918 KY 57, Tollesboro, Kentucky, with Brother Arnold Howe officiating. Burial will follow in Esham Cemetery in Lewis County.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2026, until the service hour at Tollesboro Funeral Home.
