Norma Jean Stiglich of Mt. Morris, Michigan left this world with family by her side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on October 13, 2025 at the age of 88 in Portage, Michigan. A memorial service will take place on November 6, 2025, at 12:00 pm at St. John Catholic Church in Davison, Michigan.
Norma, most fondly known as "Jeanie," was born on March 28, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman and Mary (Formby) Brownrigg. She and William Blase Stiglich were united in marriage on June 20, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, Michigan. The couple spent 55 wonderful years married and together had 6 children.
Norma began her career as an operator at the age of 19 in Flint, Michigan; followed by time spent as an insurance policy assistant in Clio. She was a homemaker, beloved mother and devout Catholic, who spent many years volunteering for the American Red Cross at Hurley Medical Center. Norma enjoyed high school football games, bowling, knitting, fishing, swimming and bird watching. Best known for her apple pies and strawberry jam, family get togethers were never short of her famous desserts. As an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan, she never missed a game and always remained loyal to her team. The love for her family, animals and nature was among the most important things in her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Timothy and wife Roxanna Stiglich, Loretta and husband Juan Reyes, Thomas and wife Julie Stiglich, Brian and wife Michelle Stiglich, Jeffrey Stiglich and husband Nisar Naimi, Theodore and wife Kelly Stiglich; grandchildren; April Dunn, Anthony Stiglich, Brett Shaw, Matthew Shaw, Melissa Hatfield, Heather Cooper, Erika Gonzalez, Alyssa Reyes, Cody Stiglich, Emily Stiglich-Schmidt, Chalsey Stiglich, Jared Stiglich, Gabriel Stiglich, Joshua Stiglich, Nicholas Stiglich, Kayla Stiglich, Zach Brooks, Sabrina Augenstein; many beloved great-grandchildren; brother; Daniel (Donna) Brownrigg and sisters; Anne (Jack) Davis and Marjorie Pariseau.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband; William; parents; Norman and Mary; brothers; Dennis, Gerald and Howard Brownrigg and sisters; Frances Taylor, Mary Agnes Binkley, Janet Wiese and Marilyn Harris.
