Norma Gayle Robinson Thomas

Norma Gayle Thomas went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2020. She was born September 23, 1950 in Fauquier County, Virginia. Norma received her education in the Prince William County Public School System. She attended Antioch McCrae Elementary and Jeannie Dean High School until schools were desegregated. Norma graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Virginia in 1968. She married her high school sweetheart Larry W. Thomas on October 27, 1973. Norma was baptized at an early age at Oakrum Baptist Church in Thoroughfare, Virginia by Reverend Carey E. Pointer, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board until her health started to decline. She enjoyed running the concession stand behind the church during Homecoming. She sold her famous country ham and chicken sandwiches and baked goods to raise funds for the Youth Department. She especially enjoyed spending the weekends at The Wilderness Presidential Resort in Fredericksburg, Virginia and cheering on her Redskins. She also enjoyed canning vegetables raised in her husband's garden, giving the grandkids joy rides on her golf cart and filling them up on hotdogs and pork 'n beans. Norma is survived by her husband, Larry W. Thomas; 2 daughters, Kisha Thomas (Adrian), Lynese Jenkins (Wesley) of Haymarket, VA; one son Daryl Thomas of Thoroughfare, VA; a sister Denise Harris of Holmes, PA; two loving aunts Ida Colvin of Thoroughfare, VA and Jean Carter of Woodbridge, VA; 10 grandkids Olivia, Jacob, Laiyla, Andrew, Haley, Ava, Isaac, Makaila, Alexis and Nevaeh. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Christine Thomas and Delores Duffin of Centreville, VA; Mary Ann Thomas of Haymarket, VA; Florence Thomas of Gainesville, VA; Brothers-in-law Samuel (Bobby) Thomas of Haymarket, VA, Charles (Haywood) Thomas of Gainesville, VA, Greylin (Butch) Thomas, Sr. of Haymarket, VA, James (Clayton) Thomas and Oliver (Butch) Duffin of Centreville, VA. She leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Bernice Robinson.
