Obituary published on Legacy.com by Phillips Funeral Service on Nov. 11, 2025.
Norma Jean Williams-Pennington, 72, went to be with her heavenly father on November 10, 2025 at her home in Fittsown, OK, after a fight with lung cancer.
She was born on May 12th, 1953, to Louise and Leroy Hatton in Stonewall, Oklahoma.
Norma was the 2nd oldest of 8 siblings: With Judy, Bobby, Terry, David, Mary, Robbie, and Tracy, it made for some great family gatherings over the years. Playing volleyball on the 4th of July, going fishing, or just sitting around and laughing were all cherished memories.
She married Jack Pennington in 1969, and they had 4 children: Tanya, Carmel, Phillip, and Joe. Their memories growing up are filled with their mother's strong spirit, wonderful smile, and loving embrace. Through her journey here on Earth, she had many adventures with family and friends. She worked her entire life to help provide for her family and give them a home filled with love.. Her late husband, Michael, and she owned and operated a little gas station in Fittsown, where her grandkids knew they could always get a treat off the shelf from Mimi. She was able to retire in 2019 and spent the rest of her years enjoying her grandkids and great-grandkids, reading stories about dragons and magical places as well as her bible, going to play the slots with her big sister Judy, and sitting on her back porch, enjoying nature. She loved the outdoors and having her own land to grow vegetables and pick pecans on.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Tanya Anglemyer, her wife, Laura Anglemyer, and their two children, Michael and Cooper Anglemer; her daughter, Carmel Yeater, her husband, Ike Yeater, and their child, Elizabeth Guy; her son, Phillip Pennington, and his daughter Shelby Pennington and her partner Mickel Harris, and their daughter, Hadley Harris; and her son, Joe Pennington, his wife Alyson Pennington, and their children: Carter Pennington and his partner Emily Danielle, and their daughter Flora Pennington; Bradyn Riley and his wife Tosha Riley, and their children, Kash and Kora Riley, as well as Brooklyn Riley, Caleb Pennington, Caden Pennington, and Karson Pennington.
She is also survived by her siblings Judy Shulenburger, Terry Thompson, and her husband RC Thompson, David Hatton, Bobby Hatton, and wife Tanis Hatton, Robbie Hatton, and Tracy Hatton and his wife Charolette Hatton. She also has many other family members who loved and cared about her. Special thank you to her sister-in-law, Christy Hood who was her hospice nurse, and her brother-in-law Earl Hood for performing her service.
