It is with great sadness that I send my condolences to the Haney family. Mr. Haney was one of my favorite teachers and also the father of my high school friend, Marilyn. I spent many happy times in their company. He was an intelligent, loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed life and being with people. I just can't recall ever seeing him without a smile on his face. I care very deeply for Mr. & Mrs. Haney and tried to keep in touch each Christmas. My heart goes out to all of you. We have lost a special man but he will never be forgotten. I send my love -

Mr. Haney how could I ever forget this school teacher. I will say when I entered his class for the first time I was intimidated by the golf club and thought to myself please do not let this be for the students who fall asleep in class, LOL. Mr Haney
was a great teacher and everybody at Watsonville High School wanted to be in his classes, let's put it like this if you did not have Haney for a class you were not in the crowd. Heaven has a beautiful new Angel who is passing out Tootsie Rolls.
RIP Mr. Haney.

I'm 65 years old and I realize that it was Mr. Haney to me. five years ago when I was visiting Watsonville and bumped into him in the Casserly area it still was Mr Haney.
I was always drawn to his authentic voice and personality. I still remember the facts he drilled into us in class. Useful tools in my life. After I graduated from High school he invited me to match in ping pong. At that phase of my life I could really play and he gave me a thorough beating the first game.. He could really play.
I had the privilege to swim with one of his kids and knew another. He was a huge asset to the community. Teachers need not copy his techniques. He was one of a kind.
Thanks Norm...

Mr Haney was one of my all favorite teachers at WHS. His sense of humor made biology & science a fun experience. I looked forward to seeing him at PV golf course and always attended our class reunions, class of 62. Never looked his age, what's your secret Norm.
