Mrs. Long and family,
Norman had been retired from North Anna for many years before the outage where I bumped into him again. In surprise, I greeted him and asked him why, after all that time, he would want to work outages again? He smiled warmly and said that otherwise when he got up, it was just the garden that needed his tending. He implied the outage work kept him busy and moving, and gave him activity that was fulfilling.

But you know what? When he said it, there was a gleam in his eye that made me think he was enjoying an inside joke that I was missing. It was cute.

Whenever I hear his name, I enjoy the memory of that conversation in the hallway. I also remember how respected Norman was by our peers.

May God provide you comfort and peace through the changes brought on by Norm's passing.
Most sincerely,
Kelly Taylor

Mrs. Long, I'm very sorry to learn of Norman's passing. I have been retired from North Anna since '91. The few years that I returned and worked with Norman, during outages,we often talked of "ole" times, when we were a lot younger, and enjoyed the stories of the young'uns growing up and the love we had for our wife and family. May God comfort you and your family at this time and the days ahead.

Sincerely, David Jacobs, Sr.
