Norman Arthur Loughmiller, 93 years young passed away at Peak Resources in Gastonia, NC on October 4, 2025.
He was born in Chicago Heights Illinois to the late Arthur and Bertha Loughmiller on January 23, 1932. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Loughmiller, stepson Michael Wages, Grandson Kevin Rimsky and his sisters Clara Swets and Irene Snow.
Norman proudly served his country in the US Army and retired from Ameri Gas (formerly Schultz Gas Service) after 25 years of service. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife of 50 years Joan Loughmiller who survives him. Norm was a man of faith and his family came first in his life where his faith shined. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather who left us with memories to cherish.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joan Loughmiller, son Mike (Rosanne) Loughmiller, special daughter-in-law Kathy Wages, daughter in law, Rebecca (John) Rimsky. Precious grandchildren Tony (Lyn) Loughmiller, Rachel (Nick) King, Terese (Matt) Hord, Samantha (Doc) McCollough, Karen Rimsky, Matt Loughmiller and Stephanie Loughmiller.
He leaves behind many great grandchildren whose lives are better having him as their Grandpa - Roselyn, Sophia, Maddie, Liam and Zander had a special place in his heart.
A special Thank you to Irma (Norm’s Angel) for all that you have done these past two years. Words cannot even begin to express our appreciation for all you did.
The family would also like to Thank both the staff at Peak Resouces and VIA Hospice for all their love and care for our father.
Please feel free to leave a memory of Norm so we can share with all at the Celebration of Life that will be held at a later date.
