Norman Rebenstorf Obituary

Norman E. Rebenstorf Sr., 99, of Montgomery, passed away on January 21, 2023. He was born in Aurora, Illinois on June 11, 1923, the son of the late Alfred and Mabel (Hauser) Rebenstorf.

He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1941. Following high school, Norman joined the United States Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Norman returned home and married Elizabeth Klaren. They settled in Montgomery, Illinois where they raised their family while Norman worked until retirement at Northern Illinois Gas Company. During his life, Norman was highly active in numerous organizations and clubs, such as the Aurora American Legion, the Montgomery Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7452, the Tiger Club, the 3rd Ward Club, and the Phoenix Club.

Along with his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth J. (Klaren) Rebenstorf; his siblings, Ralph Rebenstorf, Melvin Rebenstorf, and Shirley Trierweiler; his daughter-in-law, Mariann R. (Cobb) Rebenstorf; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Marie Rebenstorf and Robyn Linn Rebenstorf.

Norman is survived by his children, Rox Ann Thompson of Montgomery, IL and Norman (Becky) Rebenstorf Jr. of Tucson, AZ; his granddaughter, Ronya (Jeff) Kohl, of Bradenton, FL; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler and Mackinzie Hudmon.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 10 AM to 12 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 12 PM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
